Instrument and Mouthpiece Updrages

Once a student enters high school the expectation of accomplishment in all classes rises; consistent with that, the expected level of musicianship rises. Band will be a rewarding experience and the more you put into it the more rewarding it will be.

• Ninth graders are expected to have upgraded mouthpieces and reeds.
• It is suggested that all students/parents explore upgrading instruments. “Student Model” instruments are meant for beginners, which high schoolers are not.
